Genesis 13:14–15 – “Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art… For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it.”
The story of Abraham teaches us a profound truth: God’s promises are only limited by how far we can see. When Lot separated from Abraham, God commanded him to lift his eyes. Notice, God didn’t change Abraham’s location first; He changed his perspective.
Your horizon begins not where you wish you were, but where you are right now. Too often, we fall into the trap of “if only”—if only I had more money, more connections, more skills, then my life would change. But God says, “Lift your eyes from the place you are.”
What you see determines what you can receive. Abraham’s inheritance was as vast as the extent of his vision. If he saw little, he received little. If he saw far, he received far. Likewise, if you keep your vision small, you will limit God’s ability to enlarge your territory.
Faith enlarges your horizon. Through the eyes of faith, you can see beyond your current salary, your current struggles, or your current limitations. You can see nations, businesses, ministries, and legacies yet unborn. That is why Paul prayed that the “eyes of your understanding may be enlightened” (Ephesians 1:18).
This month, refuse to look down in discouragement. Lift your eyes and expand your vision. The God of horizons is calling you higher.
Prayer Point: Lord, enlarge my vision. Help me to see beyond my present limitations into the vast inheritance You have prepared for me.
Declaration: I lift my eyes by faith and see new horizons. Every inheritance God shows me, I will possess.
