“You received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry, ‘Abba, Father.’” – Romans 8:15
You are not alone in this world. You are not forgotten or abandoned. Through Jesus Christ, you have been welcomed into the very heart of God’s family. You belong. You are loved. You are home.
When God adopted you, it wasn’t out of pity or obligation. It was out of love. He chose you. He wanted you. He gave you His name and called you His own. In His eyes, you are no longer an outsider—you are His child.
Think about what adoption means. A child who once had no family now has a father who loves, protects, and provides. That’s what God has done for you. He brought you close and made you part of His household. You don’t need to fight for attention or prove your worth. He already delights in you.
When Scripture says we cry, “Abba, Father,” it shows how personal this relationship is. “Abba” is an intimate word—like saying “Dad” or “Papa.” It means you can talk to God freely, without fear. You can bring Him your joy, your pain, your questions, and your dreams. He listens with love because you are His child.
And you are not an only child. Everyone who belongs to Christ is your brother or sister. Together, you are part of one big, beautiful family that stretches across nations, languages, and generations.
Today, let this truth settle in your heart—you belong to God. You are safe in His love. Nothing you do can make Him love you more, and nothing you fail to do can make Him love you less. You are not defined by rejection, fear, or shame. You are defined by the Father who calls you His own.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for welcoming me into Your family. Thank You for loving me, choosing me, and calling me Your child. Help me to live with peace and confidence, knowing I belong to You. Fill my heart with Your love, and let my life show others what it means to be part of Your family. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
