God’s New Wine

Matthew 9:17 – “Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break… but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.”

New seasons require new mindsets. Jesus’ teaching about new wine reminds us that God cannot pour fresh blessings into old containers. If you want to step into the new, you must be willing to be transformed in your thinking, habits, and faith.

Wine represents the move of the Spirit—fresh, vibrant, and alive. Old wineskins represent rigid, resistant mindsets that cannot handle God’s new outpouring. If you insist on clinging to old ways of doing things, you risk missing the new move of God in your life.

This means embracing flexibility and humility. Be willing to learn, adapt, and grow. Allow the Spirit to stretch you, even if it feels uncomfortable. Sometimes, God’s new instructions may not look like anything you’ve known before. But trust that He knows what He is doing.

Are you ready for the new wine? Then ask God to renew your heart and mind. Make yourself available, teachable, and pliable in His hands. Only then can you contain and sustain His new blessings.

Prayer Point: Lord, make me a new wineskin. Prepare me for Your fresh outpouring, and stretch me to carry the new.

Declaration: I am a vessel ready for God’s new wine. I will not miss His fresh outpouring in my life.
